For my first road trip this summer I went to Pella Tulip Time but didn't go until Sunday since Saturday was a little chilly. The day was great and the tulips were in full bloom. The festival was over but there were still many people out on the town square admiring the flowers and the downtown area. The town is about 45 minutes southeast of Des Moines and just east of Red Rock Lake. Pella is a small town, maybe 10,000 or 15,000 people, very Dutch.
